Nankin bantam chicken

Children’s Farms·Bird

An ancient poultry breed, evidence suggests that the Nankin Chicken arrived in England from Southeast Asia prior to the 1500s. Once a popular and abundant breed, these birds began to fall out of favor in the mid-1800s during the “hen fever” craze, when people began to prefer new and exotic chicken breeds.
